About CPAS
SINCE 1957
Cerebral Palsy Alliance Singapore (CPAS) is a social service agency established in 1957. CPAS provides persons with cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities with early intervention, special education, rehabilitation services, day activity centre programmes as well as vocational training and gainful employment in Singapore.
Through active advocacy and the support of equal opportunities for all persons with cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities, CPAS hopes to empower these individuals by helping them realise their full potential and lead fulfilled, dignified lives. Driven by our core values of hope, empowerment, aspiration, respect and trust, the organisation is focused on delivering fully integrated programmes and services at the highest standards. At present, we look after over 800 clients ranging in age from a few months to 55 years old.

Significant Milestones
- The CPAS Day Activity Centre was expanded, increasing the capacity from 50 clients to 70 clients.
- The CPAS mascot, Suzy Doll was refreshed to raise awareness of cerebral palsy and CPAS.
- CPAS’ own Assistive Technology Hub was established in April 2019.
- Due to COVID-19, CPAS had to innovate new ways to fundraise. We held our first-ever Charity Livestreaming Event on 5 September. The event successfully raised over $200,000.
- The Alter-G® Anti-Gravity Treadmill™ and DST Pro successfully completed their pilot phase whereby 15 clients participated and successfully walked 600 meters in under 20 minutes. This project is now in its full implementation phase from August 2020 to January 2021.
- The Psychology Department procured their first Humanoid Robot called ELLA. She helps students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) acquire appropriate communication, play, and social skills through curriculum, which will be piloted in both EIPIC and CPAS School.
- CPAS School renovated the existing computer lab and launched StudioIT! StudioIT! is fitted with a green screen and serves as a training studio for our students and teachers in the areas of Digital Media Design and Video Post-production.
- The CPAS Assistive Technology (AT) Hub revamped the existing life skills room to launch the Independent Living Skills Centre. Fitted with new equipment and technologies to assist clients with activities of daily living, the centre will serve as a training facility for clients to learn independent living skills.
- The CPAS Physiotherapy Department (PT) procured the Motek C-MILL VR+, an advanced treadmill for training gait and balance using Augmented Virtual Reality. CPAS is the first Social Service Agency in Singapore to integrate this technology in our rehabilitation process.
- Apple CEO Tim Cook visited CPAS School (East) to observe how our students and staff incorporate Apple technology in their classrooms.
- At the 2024 Paris Paralympics, CPAS Connect Alumni Member, Jeralyn Tan, won a Silver medal in the women's Boccia individual BC1 event, becoming the first Boccia Paralympic medalist for Singapore.
